The special issue in Journal of Environmental Management (Elsevier), with a
theme of “Biowaste and biomass valorization, recycling and recovery practices”,
is aiming to report the latest research and development on biowaste and biomass
applications. This issue will fill a gap in the current lack of updated and
comprehensive information about (1) the resources recovery of biowaste and
biomass with unconventional treatment technologies, and (2) the management,
regulation and policy of different application of
Manuscripts (either research article or review paper) in the following areas are welcomed:
-Novel and effective valorization, recycling and recovery from biowaste and biomass;
-Biowaste/biomass as raw materials for production of bioenergy, biochemicals, and biomaterials;
-Application of biowaste/biomass for effective remediation of contaminated sites; and
-Application of biowaste/biomass for effective removal of emerging pollutants.
Note that the above list is not exhaustive. Researchers are welcome to suggest any relevant topics that are related to biowaste applications. The issue is expected to comprise about 20 papers (max.). The timelines of the special issue are given as follows:
-Submission of full papers: 31st Aug 2018
-Announcement of final decisions: 31st Jan 2019
-Online publication: 30th April 2019

Invited authors should indicate their interest by submitting an abstract of no more than 300 words on or before 31st July 2017 to Managing Guest Editor at firstname.lastname@example.org. The editors will select the most suitable submissions and invite authors to prepare a full paper, which will be submitted and peer reviewed in accordance with standard journal practice.
